SLUH INTRAMURALS

 

ARM WRESTLING


GENERAL INFORMATION
:

1.  Matches will be played in designated classrooms assigned the day of the contest.

2.  Matches will occur during Activity Periods and begin approximately ten minutes into the

Period.

3.  ACADEMIC OR SLUH CLUB/SPORTS TEAM CONFLICTS HAVE PRIORITY

            OVER INTRAMURALS!!!  (NOTE:  SLUH athletes should contact their coaches

            for clearance to participate in athletic Intramural events.)

4.  Students should listen to announcements/Social-Intramural Rep's. and check the

Tournament Bracket located on the bulletin board to the east of the Cafeteria Doors

for their opponent.

5.  Each homeroom will conduct its own tournament to determine its representative arm wrestler

in the "Final Four" style tournament.


PARTICIPANTS
:

1.  Although every student is encouraged to participate in his homeroom's qualifier tournament,

only one representative from each homeroom may be sent to the tournament to compete.

 

SINGLE-ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT BRACKET:

1.  Each homeroom representative will be randomly assigned to a spot in the "Final Four" style

bracket made up of Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior regions.

2.  Individuals will advance to the next round of the tournament with each victory and earn 1

"Cup Point" for advancing each round beginning with the "Elite 8" of the overall

tournament.  The winning student for each class will play against the Faculty All-Stars.

 

GAME RULES:

1.  Each match of the tournament will be a "best 2 out of 3"  contest.  Having your arm pinned,

breaking the hand lockup, or being disqualified for lifting your elbow off the desk will be

considered one loss for each occurrence.  The first player to accumulate two losses will lose the match.

2.  A Tournament official will be present for each match to settle any disputes that may occur. 

The Official's decision is final unless Mr. Barton calls for a rematch between contestants.

3.  Each contest will begin with both wrestlers placing their elbows on the desk  provided and

starts on the Official's command to begin.

4.  Only the representative sent from each homeroom will receive credit for participation in

I.M. Arm Wrestling when determining Team "Cup Points" or participation numbers.
