SLUH INTRAMURALS

BASHBALL

GENERAL INFORMATION:
1.  Games will be played in the SLUH Stadium.
2.  Games will be approximately 20 minutes long during Activity Periods and begin approximately ten minutes into the Period.
3.  ACADEMIC OR SLUH CLUB/SPORTS TEAM CONFLICTS HAVE PRIORITY OVER INTRAMURALS!!!  (NOTE:  SLUH athletes should
        contact their coaches for clearance to participate in intramurals.)
4.  Students should listen to announcements/Social-Intramural Rep's. and check the Tournament Bracket located on the bulletin board to the east of the
        Cafeteria Doors for the date/time of their next game.
5.  Players must be dressed in gym-appropriate clothing (t-shirt, shorts, & GYM SHOES.

TEAMS:

1.  Teams will be broken down by homerooms, with a minimum of four players required to play.
2.  Senior Advisors may ONLY play for their Senior Homeroom.
3.  EVERY homeroom member who wishes to participate will be allowed to play!  There are NO TRYOUTS or "Cutting" of players!

SINGLE-ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT BRACKET:

1.  Each homeroom will be randomly assigned to a spot in their class' tournament bracket.  Depending on the number of teams, some teams may receive a 1st Rd. "bye."
2.  For each game, the "TOP" team will be designated as the HOME team, while the "BOTTOM" team will be designated as the VISITOR and will wear the mesh jerseys if they do not bring their own uniforms.
3.  Teams will advance to the next round of the tournament and earn 2 "Cup Points" with each victory.  The winning homeroom for each class will play against the Faculty All-Stars.

GAME RULES:

1.  Most games will be officiated by at least one faculty member or Intramural Committee member.  Officials will keep the official score of each game in
        addition to throwing tip balls and calling fouls.  All officials should be treated with respect.  Any player or spectator who acts in a disrespectful
        manner toward an official may be subject to ejection from a game/tournament, or demerits/JUGS.
2.  Each game will begin with a "tip-off" at mid-field.  After a goal, the team which was scored upon will begin with the ball at mid-field.
3.  The ball may be passed by throw, punt, or header at any time in any direction.
4.  A Ball Carrier must stop and pass the ball immediately after being tagged by two hands of the opposing team.
5.  Goalies may NOT use their hands or arms to block a shot in the air by the opposing team, but may pick up a ground ball.
6.  1 Point will be awarded for a shot thrown into the opponent's net by hand.
7.  2 Points will be awarded for shots "bashed" into the opponent's net.  A "bashed" ball is one struck with a fist or head.  Kicked/Punted Shots are NOT
        PERMITTED.
8.  No shots may be attempted from behind over the top of the opponent's goal.
9.  Teams may only substitute a player when another player leaves the field (similar to hockey), so that NO MORE THAN 7 PLAYERS ARE ON THE
        FIELD AT THE SAME TIME.  Whenever possible, substitutions should be made during a "dead ball situation."  Teams  must rotate players if more
        than 7
homeroom members wish to play!
10.  No excessive physical play (tackling, push tags, etc.) will be allowed (as determined by Mr. Barton).
11.  Following a foul or out-of-bounds, the ball must be passed back into play by the opposing team.
12.  A Two minute warning will be given prior to the end of each game and the end of the game will be announced by the official working the game.
13.  If teams are tied at the end of the time limit, each team will take sudden death "penalty shots" from 10 feet away until a winner is determined.
