GAME RULES/NOTES:
1. Players are only allowed to throw Bombardment balls. No kicking or headers are allowed.
2. Players are on an "honor system" to admit when they are knocked out. The officials can't
possibly see all the action in the early part of a Round.
3. Players are knocked out and moved into the "holding cell" whenever a thrown ball from an
opponent hits them
BELOW the head
and bounces to the floor without being caught. A
ball may only be
thrown at an
opponent from a MINIMUM of 5 FEET. There are no
"point blank"
shots allowed. Players found doing
so may be ejected.
4. When knocked out, a player must immediately drop (not pass) any balls they currently have and
quickly move to the holding cell.
5. Whenever a thrown ball is caught by an opponent, the thrower of the ball is knocked out and one
player from the receiving team's holding cell is released.
6. Whenever a player hits an opponent in the head with a ball, the thrower of the ball is knocked
out. Players MAY NOT intentionally put their head in the line of fire just to penalize the thrower.
7. Neither player is knocked out if a thrown ball is blocked/deflected by another ball.
8. If a thrower successfully puts a round rubber ball through the opposing team's basket, HALF of
the thrower's team will be "freed" from the "holding cell".
9. If a thrower successfully puts a foam football through the opposing team's basket, ALL of the
thrower's team will be "freed" from the "holding cell".
10. A player may not hold the same ball for more than 10 seconds at a time.
11. A player
may not step foot beyond the opposing team's free throw line until the
"flag
ball" has been knocked off of the cone it rests upon.
12. After the "flag ball" is knocked off the cone, players may move in to capture it and carry it
back to their side of the court to end the Round.
13. If a player holding the "flag ball" is hit by an opponent's ball, the "flag ball" must be
immediately dropped (not passed) where the hit was made before quickly moving to the
"holding cell".
14. A "flag ball" may NOT be touched or moved by members of it's own team, it can only
be "protected from attack".
15. As with all U. High Intramural events, good sportsmanship is expected and enforced. The
object of this program is fun and participation, not to injure the opponent.
