SLUH INTRAMURALS
FILM
MAKING
GENERAL INFORMATION:
1. Each I.M. Team of four homerooms will
work together to re-create a 5 MINUTE
movie scene from a pre-determined list of
movies made available during the second semester.
2. Teams will have all of second semester
to select, write, cast, produce, and edit their film scenes and will
meet on their own to do all the work for this event. Activity
Periods will
NOT be set aside by Mr. Barton to
work on the film making
process. Teams must arrange their own film making schedules.
3. The films will be shown on one of two
"film festival" days and judged
by a faculty panel for
their overall quality, acting, editing, creativity, and accuracy to the
"spirit" of the
original film scene.
The teams which
produce the top 5 rated films will earn 5 I.M. Points each and the team
producing the number 1 rated film will earn an additional 5 I.M.
points.
TEAMS:
1. Teams will be
broken down by I.M. teams and homeroom teachers are encouraged to
participate.
2. Anyone who wishes to participate will be allowed to play and
is encouraged to do so.
GAME RULES:
1. Films which break any laws of the
jurisdiction in which they were produced will automatically be
disqualified from the contest and the team(s) producing them will earn
no I.M.
Cup Points for this event.
2. Films which contain any inappropriate language, sexual
innuendo or any nudity
will automatically be disqualified from the contest and the team(s)
producing them will earn no
I.M. Cup Points for this
event. Any
movie scenes which may have originally contained questionable language
should be edited by the team(s) re-creating them.
3. The safety of all those
involved in the film-making process is of the highest priority.
4. Any on-camera participants must be current SLUH students,
faculty, or staff members and a list of participants names and
signatures must be submitted with the final film copy to
Mr. Barton at
the beginning of the week of the April film festival.
5. Each team must submit in
writing the title and 5 minute scene they will be re-creating to Mr.
Barton in the Social Studies Office.
