SLUH INTRAMURALS

 

TEAM HOT SHOT


GENERAL INFORMATION
:

1.  Games will be played in the SLUH Gymnasium during Activity Periods and begin approximately ten minutes

into the Period.

2.  ACADEMIC OR SLUH CLUB/SPORTS TEAM CONFLICTS HAVE PRIORITY

            OVER INTRAMURALS!!!  (NOTE:  SLUH athletes should contact their coaches for clearance to

participate in intramurals.)

3.  Students should listen to their Social-Intramural Rep's. and check the Tournament Bracket located on the bulletin

board to the east of the Cafeteria Doors for the date/time of their next game.

4.  Players must be dressed in gym-appropriate clothing (t-shirt, shorts, & GYM SHOES)


TEAMS
:

1.  Teams will be broken down by homerooms, with THREE players required to play.

2.  Senior Advisors may ONLY play for their Senior Homeroom.

3.  EVERY homeroom member who wishes to participate will be allowed to play!  There are

NO TRYOUTS or "Cutting" of players!

 

TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE:

1.  The top five Teams for each grade level will advance to the final round of the tournament and earn 2 Cup

Points.  The top five homerooms will then compete against one another to determine a class champion. 

The winning homeroom for each class will play against the Faculty All-Stars.

2.  For each game, each player will participate in a 1-MINUTE round of Hot Shot.  The Total Points for each

participant will be counted and, after the individual HIGH and LOW Total Point scores are thrown out,

winning teams will be determined by the average scores of the remaining participants (Remaining Total

Points Earned divided by the number of participants in the homeroom). 

 

GAME RULES:

1.  Each court will be officiated by at least one faculty member or Intramural Committee member.  Officials will

keep the official scores of each homeroom's participants and report the scores and the end of the round. 

All officials should be treated with respect.  Any player or spectator who acts in a disrespectful manner toward an official
will be subject to possible disqualification or demerits/JUGS.

2.  Each MINUTE of Hot Shot will be timed on the scoreboard clock.

3.  Participants will begin their minute at the top of the key and may then shoot from any of the hot spots they wish

in any order they wish for the duration of the time.  See the diagram below for hot spot locations and

corresponding Basket Point values.

4.  A Participants may attempt up to two lay-ups (defined as shots taken from inside the free throw lane) at any

point during the minute if desired.  Made Lay-ups are worth 1 Basket Point each.

5.  Participants will earn 5 bonus points for attempting a shot from all five hot spots at some time during the round.

6.  Participants will earn an additional 10 bonus points for attempting a second series of shots from all five hot spots

during the round.  The maximum number of bonus points possible in a minute of Hot Shot is 15.

7.  Bonus Points earned plus Basket Points earned will equal a participant's Total Points earned.
